Hi, I’m Ali Wellington, a postpartum doula offering grounded, in-home support to families during the early weeks and months after birth.

When I became a mother in 2021, I quickly realized that the support I had postpartum was not enough for my family. My pregnancy included intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP), and my postpartum experience brought unexpected emotional and physical challenges that deeply shaped how I understand this transition. It showed me how vulnerable and significant the early weeks after birth can be, and how much steady, compassionate care matters.

That experience led me into postpartum work, where I now support families through the postpartum season with practical care, nourishment, and calm presence in the home.

I believe postpartum is a time that deserves to be held with intention. Care, rest, and emotional support are not luxuries — they are essential. Over time, I’ve come to see that many parents have been led to expect far too little support during this season of life, and my mission is to help shift that standard of care. By showing up fully in my work with transparency, integrity, and consistent communication, I aim to make support feel clearer, steadier, and more grounded, practical and holistic than many families are used to

My work is also rooted in the belief that simple, nourishing food is an important part of feeling cared for during the postpartum season. Oftentimes, my love of cooking naturally shows up in the way I support families.

My work centers on reducing overwhelm, supporting rest, and helping you feel more confident in your instincts as a parent. I strive to support bonding and connection in the early days as you get to know your baby.

I am currently training in Possums in Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC), an evidence-based approach that supports infant development, responsive feeding, biologically normal sleep, and reducing stress for both babies and parents. This perspective has helped me gently challenge deeply rooted myths around infant sleep and help families feel less pressure around sleep during the postpartum period and beyond.

My goal is for families to feel more grounded, supported, and less alone in the early weeks and months of parenthood.

“Ali was truly a lifesaver during one of the most overwhelming seasons of my life. As a mom in survival mode with a newborn and two toddlers, having her support made all the difference. She helped with cooking, cleaning, laundry, and caring for our home so I could finally rest and breathe again — all without me having to ask, worry, or feel guilty. Beyond the practical support, Ali is incredibly kind, nurturing, and calming. My children absolutely adored her, and I felt deeply supported both emotionally and physically during postpartum. I would hire her again in a heartbeat.”
